I was thinking about putting a custom multiport EFI on my 472. I have the stock 425 EFI manifold and I was going to be using electronics out of a 90-90 camaro/transam. I will have to custom burn the chip of course but I was wondering is it really worth it over a properly tuned carb? Also since its high compression will it throw off the knock sensor all of the time? Thanks - Justin
Fuel injection is a kinda hot topic around these parts. Here is my opinion:
I pretty much hate Quadra-jets. There are people on this board that would accuse me of blasphemy for such a thing though. Basically I have *never* had one tune right or produce as much power as I have gotten out of a FI system. And believe me I have spent some considerable money on my Q-Puke. Basically when I was pushing 800$ on more work on it I said enough is enough and began putting together a FI system for my Caddy.
My opinion is that if you have the time and patience and skill, then FI is the way to go.

Thanks for the info. Can you give me any details on your efi setup? Or any details on the plans if you dont have it all together yet?
Thanks - Justin
