Fuel Pump

Hi All,

Has anyone ever experienced high pressure from a mechanical fuel pump? A '76 replacement pump ,appears from a gage in the fuel line,
to be erratic. It's a cheap gage but was bouncing all over the place. Put
a fuel reg in line and seems to cure the miss at idle. The pressure
read over 15 psi to 20 psi. Gage went south from bouncing all over
the place. Any thoughts?

I 'spect that the internal pressure relief valve stuck.
