Greetings, My research has lead me to believe .003 mains and .002 rods would be good for a STREET engine that is built to do 5500 RPM. My question is I have some Ross forged .030 pistons on the way and was wondering if there are differt ideas about clearance on these for street as opposed to racing only. Any Ideas??

In my case, if you need a quick answer from me, this ain't the place. I get up here very seldom. It's always better to call me @ (262) 740-1118. I can talk way faster than I type. Glad to help. Phone is much faster for me.
Only time I open bearing clearance to .003 is for engine that will see extended use at full throttle. I set both clearances @.002 and have had no issues @5500 and under for years.
Only time I have seen trouble is in Bonneville car or HP boat engines with throttle flat out for 2 mins or more. Then the bigger clearance helps alot.
