The pulleys wull work. I would NOT use the manifolds because they are pretty restrictive.

Keep your pulley's and accessory brackets matched up if you can. Should avoid any problems that way. I think I read somewhere that the 425 brackets will bring the accessories in tighter to the engine. The 425 pulleys are lighter in weight than the heavy 500 pulleys.

I'm not sure if the timing marker on the 500 will be correct with the 425 pulley.

You might want to hang on to the Heads. Some guys have run them on the 500 for an easy compression increase. You need to drill some coolant holes. I can't tell you where they need to be.

The 425 crank can be used in a 472.

Ponee,
The 425 oil pump positions the oil filter closer to the crank pulley which helps with some applications when the cad engine is installed it smaller cars where the swaybar is an issue.

You can actually use just the 425 crank pulley to go fan/water pump/alternator and not have to drive the smog pump anymore. I was going to do it when I replaced my water pump, but I didn't want to bother with removing the plumbing and plugging the holes in the heads.

It *looks* like you could then remove the smog pump, but I recall that when I took my 472 apart, there was a bracket that held both the alternator and the smog pump, which would then still be hanging down there, looking tacky, and a dead giveway at the emissions test (if you have to deal with that). I couldn't tell on the 500, couldn't see down there because a power steering leak had made a mess, but at a glance it looked like the brackets were separate. I could be wrong.

If you take the lower pulley from the 425, you do need to get the timing pointer. My recommendation would be just to use all of the 425 pulleys and brackets.
