Just a question; cause I really dont know, nor haven't seen a
pro or con on this .. is there any benefit of changing to the non EGR because of a better design or is it just a bit cleaner on top.?
( is it the same just egr provisions added)?

Yes it is worth it the EGR equipped intakes have the runners routed differently and more restrictivly to make room for the EGR and EGR passages. A earlier stock intake simply has runners and exhaust crossover.

Thanks for the info,, now one other question ,, will all the early 68-70
472 intakes fit properly on a 73 500 (same deck height etc)?
I'm setting up for a little winter project of tweaking the 500 and have access to 69 472 should I get it and plug the cross over gallery

Yes. All the intakes will swap. All changes were internal, so the external, critical dimensions stayed the same. So the FI manifold will fit all years too, or the single-plane 425/368 maifold, not that you want to use those.

It will flow better stiock, and has more room for improvement that the EGR equiped manifold.
So yes:!: I did that ion the 425 I just swapped in, used the manifold from the 472 that came out ('72 non EGR).

You might be better off plugging the crossovers in the heads. It will do more good that way.

Yeah that is what I'm doing, filling them with either melted cast piston or block filler.
