The 75 and 76 are the same except for the rear disc brakes and hydro-boost. The 75 has plenty of vacuum to run everything it does not make sense that the 76 did not. The only thing I was thinking of is that maybe they were getting ready for the 425 to come out. It currently was not for the lack of room in the engine compartment and you would not think the disc brakes would require it. This is a big mystery for me.

I beleave, if for no other reason, it was because the hydroboost can deliver higher line presure. I think the Cadies kept getting bigger.

ted,
lighter foot pressure so the oldtimers wouldn't have to burst a blood vessel stopping the barge. I read that some where.

I meant to post this on the other post where they were talking about this but hit the wrong button.

But I think you guys are 100% correct. Just more Luxury for the Luxury car. It was most likely a way to make the four wheel disc brakes seem even more superior.

Steer with one finger and brake with one toe.

I believe you are right Chris. look at any motorhome built after the late 70's. they have 4 wheel discs & hydroboost. it all comes down to stopping the USS Missouri like cars.

I have hydroboost on my 76 hearse, and it still takes a lot of foot force to stop. The boost unit and pump and new. Maybe the car is just too heavy, especially with me in it.

The vans got hydroboost because of firewall space. There wasnt enough room to get a booster on the firewall.

Not sure why hydroboost was on the caddys, but I guess its possible that the low hoodline and tall deck of the engine made the hydroboost just an easier space option as well.
