air injector question

Hello to everyone, this is my first post on this board, but reading through old posts I can see there are many knowledgeable people here.

Long time Caddie lover, but unfortunatly not a current owner...

I have a question about the AIR system. I was wondering if the diverter valve worked the same as other GM cars, where a sharp increase in vac during decel triggers the valve to dump the air. I was also looking for info on the valve itself... should the valve hold vacuum? Or does it have an orifice to bleed down quickly?
