If you're here, you have hopefully seen the HPtv episode featuring the MTS Caddy 500 build. If you have not had the privilege of watching this street motor being built and rockin' the building while on the Dyno, you need to see it to believe it.
This engine is not a drag queen. It was was built to be a street motor that runs on pump gas. During the Dyno, the boys at HPtv took the idle down to 600 rpm as proof of what we wanted. It ran like a charm, all the way up to 6,300 RPM.
Of course, 600 was a magical number. Not only did the engine weight in at under 600 lbs (545 to be exact), but on the Dyno, this street beast hit 600 for both Horsepower & Torque. Speaking of torque, the engine crossed the 500 ft lb barrier at only 2,700 RPM and was literally shaking stuff off the walls in the Dyno chamber and shut down production in the other studios. To say there was a crowd would be an understatement. And yes, everyone had smiles on their faces.
